Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and A Little Drive LLC, a California limited liability company ("A Little Drive", "we", "us"), which makes and runs Comlink, including comlinkhq.com, coml.ink and the Comlink admin panel. By using Comlink to make links, you agree to these terms. If you're using it for a business, you agree for that business too.

Who can use Comlink

Comlink accounts are for people and businesses in the United States only, and you must be at least 18. People anywhere can follow a Comlink link; these terms are for the people who make them.

Your account

You sign in with your email through Cloudflare Access. Keep access to that email safe, because whoever can read it can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including by people you add to it. If you think someone else got in, email us right away. The first time you sign in, we ask you to agree to these terms and record when you did.

Comlink is in early access. Accounts are by invitation, and while it's in early access it's free. Features, limits and prices may change, and we'll tell account holders by email before prices apply to them.

Your links and your affiliate accounts

You choose what your links point to and which affiliate accounts and tracking IDs they carry. You're responsible for following the rules of each affiliate program you use (for example, the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement and Program Policies) and the laws that apply to you, including the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's rules on disclosing affiliate links. Comlink's guide to Amazon's rules is a help, not legal advice.

Your commissions are yours. We don't take a share and don't swap in our own tracking IDs.

Your content

What you put into Comlink stays yours: your links, the stores they point to, titles, descriptions, image addresses and settings. You give A Little Drive permission to store, copy, show and send it only to run Comlink for you and your readers, for example to show a choice page or a link preview. That permission ends when your content is removed, except for retired addresses and records we must keep (see "If you leave").

You confirm you have the right to use what you put in, and that it doesn't break anyone's rights or the law. We don't review content before it goes live, and we aren't responsible for it, but we may remove or turn off anything that breaks these terms.

What you can't use Comlink for

Don't use Comlink to:

On shared domains such as coml.ink, links may only point to retail stores.

We may turn off a link or an account that breaks these terms or that people report as harmful. A link's address is never given to anyone else, even after it's turned off.

We respect copyright and expect you to. If you believe something on Comlink, or a Comlink link, infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  3. the Comlink link or content you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it, such as its address;
  4. your name, mailing address, phone number and email;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

When we get a complete notice, we retire the link or remove the content, and tell the account that owns it. A retired address stops working for good and is never given to anyone else. If you think we removed your link by mistake, you can send us a counter-notice with: your signature; the link or content that was removed and its address; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with a statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or for San Francisco County, California, if you're outside the United States) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. We'll send your counter-notice to them. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've gone to court, we'll let you put the link back up within 10 to 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice.

A notice or counter-notice that knowingly misrepresents something can make you liable for damages. We turn off the accounts of repeat infringers.

Comlink itself

A Little Drive owns Comlink: its software, design, text and the Comlink name and mark. While you follow these terms, you may use Comlink for your own creator work or business. Don't use the Comlink name or mark in a way that suggests we endorse you without asking us first.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Stores and other sites

Comlink sends people to stores and sites we don't run, such as Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart. We aren't responsible for their products, prices, availability, content or policies, or for whether they credit a commission. Your dealings with them are between you and them.

If you leave

You can stop using Comlink at any time. Ask and we'll export your links for you. If you close your account, we'll keep your existing links redirecting so nothing you've published breaks, unless they break these terms.

We may change, pause or stop Comlink, or any part of it. If we stop it entirely, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email and an export of their links. We may turn off an account that breaks these terms right away. Turning an account off doesn't delete it.

The service

Comlink is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep links fast and working, but we don't promise that Comlink will always be available or free of errors, that a store's product page is still for sale, or that any link will earn a commission. Amazon product pages aren't checked automatically. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, A Little Drive isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or commissions. Our total liability for any claim about Comlink is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100.

You agree to cover A Little Drive's reasonable costs, including legal fees, from claims by others that arise from your links or from your breaking these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. Using Comlink after that means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

The rest

These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and A Little Drive about Comlink. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer these terms to someone else without our permission; we may transfer them to whoever takes over Comlink, for example if Comlink or A Little Drive is sold or merged.
